Kelly Rowland dropped from Columbia Records

Reports and sites everywhere have been reporting that record label Columbia Records, has sent Kelly Rowland packing from their label. Check this out:

Former Destiny'S Child star Kelly Rowland has reportedly been dropped by her record label, just two months after firing her manager, former bandmate Beyonce Knowles' dad.

Despite the fact her first two solo albums sold more than four million copies, British tabloid News of The World reports the Dilemma singer has been dumped by bosses at Columbia (applies to the US and all other countries), because they fear she is "no longer commercially viable".

Rowland shot to fame in Destiny's Child in 1997 and released her first solo album, Simply Deep, in 2002. The album sold over three million copies worldwide.

The 28 year old started 2009 by splitting from longtime manager Mathew Knowles. (Source)


I think it's kind of funny that Kelly gets dropped from her label not too long after she drops Matthew. I am honestly surprised they dropped her because of the fact that her album was successful on certain levels i.e. International, hit singles, etc. Maybe they foresaw/thought that Kelendria was going to put the ax on them next. Rumor has it that she may be signig to Epic. Whatever the case is, her future shouldn't look too bleak. She is hosting Bravo's new fashion show. So i think they is a possibility that we have not seen the last of Ms. Kelly on the music scene. If Kelly Rowland is going to be in another record label, then I recommened that she drops kelly rowland and calls herself Kelendria for her next album (if there will be one =/ ). I know it's a ghetto ass name, but look at Beyonce. I wonder what her views are on her girls careers and such. Also, Michelle Williams real name is Tenetria. I think they all sound so hot and all have more personality with Kelendria, Tenetria, and Beyonce.
